Frosty and sweet strawberry margaritas are a cinch to make at home. This cocktail requires only 5 ingredients and 5 minutes.
These Frozen Strawberry Margaritas are so refreshing! Frosty and icy, with just the right amount of sweetness. Writing this blog post, I just want to slurp these all over again. They taste like they just came from your favorite Mexican restaurant. Serve with chips and queso for a true restaurant experience.
This drink is perfect for parties, picnics, or enjoying on the porch. They are also a refreshing drink for hot days.
Love Margaritas? Try our pineapple and watermelon versions too! Not a Tequila fan? Maybe my Strawberry Daiquiris will be more to your liking! Peach Bellinis are also a lovely frozen cocktail.
What are you waiting for, break your your blender it is 5 o’clock somewhere.
Why This Drink Is the Best
- Real Fruit: No artificial flavors here, just fresh juicy berries.
- Balance: Follow my Lime juice, and sugar ratio for the perfect balance of flavor. They’re not too sweet and not too sour.
- Easy and quick: Only 5 minutes from blender to your lips!
Ingredient Notes
- Strawberries: Fresh or frozen berries work great.
- Tequila: Look for tequila that is labeled 100% agave. My favorite brand is Patron. The more expensive brands are lower in alcohol content, so you can use them if you want to add less alcohol to the beverage. A more expensive tequila will also reduce the morning after headache that some people experience after drinking.
- Triple Sec: This orange flavor liquor is optional but highly encouraged. Grand Marnier could also be used. If you don’t want extra alcohol you could substitute orange juice.
- Lime Juice: Use freshly squeezed for the best flavor.
Fun Variations
- Use rum instead of tequila to make a strawberry daiquiri.
- Mix up the fruit: Pineapple, watermelon, or cranberry would be tasty too.
- On The Ricks: If you don’t have a blender you can also make this by muddling the strawberries. Mix with alcohol in a cocktail shaker (or mason jar) and strain before enjoying. Serve over ice.
- Non Alcoholic: If you’re avoiding alcohol leave it out and use soda instead.
How To Make Frozen Strawberry Margaritas
- Combine all ingredients in a blender.
- Dip the rim of glasses into lime juice and then sugar or salt.
- Pour into glasses and enjoy. Cheers!
How To Hull Strawberries
If using fresh berries, be sure to do this before blending.
- Knife Method: Use a sharp paring knife to cut around the top of the berry. Use your fingers to remove the stem.
- Straw: You can also use a straw and poke it into the bottom of the berry. The top will pop off like magic.
Pro Bartender Tips
- This drink can be as thick or thin as you’d like. Add more ice for a thicker slushier drink.
- This can be made ahead and stored in the freezer to enjoy whenever you’d like. Alcohol will not freeze completely leading to on-demand adult slushies.
- If you don’t like salt on your margarita use sugar for a sweet twist.
