Cinnamon Dolce Latte

Save For Later

This Cinnamon Dolce latte features bold coffee, sweetened with a delicious homemade syrup. It tastes just like Starbucks, but you can make it at home for a fraction of the cost.

I love visiting Starbucks, but my wallet does not. Most of their drinks can easily be made at home including the caramel frapp, the pink drink, and of course this cinnamon Dolce latte.  It is so addicting! It has nutty brown sugar, robust coffee, and of course plenty of cinnamon.

It is great for breakfast or taking on the go to work.

Why I Love This Recipe

  • Homemade Cinnamon Syrup: Homemade syrup tastes so much better than the bottled stuff.
  • Affordable: Did you know one latte a day can cost almost 2,000 a year? Make this recipe at home for less than a dollar.
  • No Fancy Equipment: No expensive machines required.
  • Quick: Ready in less than 10 minutes. Because who has patience when you need your caffeine fix?!

What Does Cinnamon Dolce Mean?

Cinnamon dolce simply means cinnamon sweet. The latte has a mix of sweetness from the brown sugar and spiciness from the cinnamon.

ingredients including a gallon of milk, cinnamon, brown sugar, and starbucks coffee.

Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips

  • Brown Sugar: Pack it down in the cup when you measure it. To keep brown sugar soft store a few marshmallows in your canister.
  • Cinnamon: For an extra burst of flavor grate this fresh from cinnamon sticks.
  • Coffee: You can use espresso, Instant espresso, or even strong brewed coffee. I used Starbucks French roast.
  • Milk: For the creamiest drink use whole milk.

How To Make a Cinnamon Dolce Latte

  1. Make the syrup: Simmer all ingredients until reduced by half.
  2. Mix: Brew coffee, stir in syrup and milk.
  3. Garnish: Top with whipped cream, and cinnamon if desired.

Fun Variations

  1. Iced Latte: Use cold milk, and top with ice. You can even make coffee ice cubes to avoid dilution.
  2. Hot Latte: Warm milk in a saucepan or use a milk frother.
  3. Frappuccino: Blend with ice in a blender.

Tips

  1. Cinnamon Syrup: Keep the leftover syrup on hand for additional coffees, cocktails, or even french toast. Stored in the fridge it will last about 1 month.
  2. Froth Milk: Froth milk without any special equipment by stirring in a saucepan with a whisk.
