Jalapeno Popper Dip With Bacon

Save For Later

My jalapeno popper dip is creamy, spicy and topped with plenty of crunchy bacon. It is way easier to make than individual poppers and is always a hit for game day.

I love turning foods we love into dips. I've previously shared Pizza Dip, Reuben Dip, and even Crab Rangoon Dip. If you make one thing for game day this make sure its my Jalapeno popper dip! It goes great with chips crackers, or veggies. Our favorites are Ritz crackers and Fritos Scoops. Love jalapenos? Try my Armadillo eggs next.

Ingredient Notes & Krystle's Tips

ingredients including bacon, jalapenos, shredded cheese, sour cream, ranch seasoning, and mayonnaise.
  • Cream cheese: Use full fat block style cream cheese. Avoid the ones that come in the tubs. Also, be sure to soften it for a lump free dip. Around an hour on the counter top is what I do. Short on time? Place the foil wrapped package in a bowl of warm not hot water.
  • Cheese: I used cheddar and mozzarella but anything you enjoy should work fine. Shred your own if you can, it will melt more smoothly.
  • Sour cream: Use full fat for the best results. Greek yogurt can work in a pinch.
  • Jalapeños: Look for peppers that are have a light green shiny skin. Avoid peppers with white lines and remove the seeds and ribs for a milder dip. You could even use pickled jalapenos which are milder and tangier.
  • Bacon: I like using thick cut bacon as it has a meaty texture that doesn't get lost and crisps up well.
  • Hot Tip: I like to bake mine in two smaller dishes. Then I can put one out at the start of the party, and have one hot and ready if it runs out!

Can I Make It In the Slow Cooker?

Yes! Combine all ingredients including the cooked bacon on low for 1.5-2 hours.

That combo of creamy cheese and spicy jalapeño is perfect! What do you like to serve with this—crackers or tortilla chips?
