I love wine cocktails like peach Bellini's, sangria margaritas, and peach sangria. Another recipe I make often are these wine slushies. If you like a glass of wine you will love these! They taste amazing and are ready in no time. They’re perfect for pool days, book club, or weekends with friends. Bonus: the recipe is endlessly customizable just add your favorite wine and fruit!

Why This Recipe Works: A Sprinkle of Food Science

  • Use Frozen Fruit: Frozen strawberries add flavor and texture without watering things down like plain ice can.
  • Use Sugar and Alcohol: Simple syrup and alcohol both lower the freezing point for the perfect slushie texture.
ingredients including strawberries, Barefoot Moscato wine, and simple syrup.

Ingredient Notes & Shopping Tips

  • White Wine: I like using Moscato because it is sweet and juicy. Riesling or even Pinot Grigio are good choices if you prefer something less sweet. You can even use sparkling wine just be extra careful when blending.
  • Frozen Strawberries: Grab the kind that are not already sweetened with sugar. If you want to use fresh fruit I suggest freezing wine as ice cubes for the perfect texture.
  • Simple Syrup: Store bought or homemade work fine. Add a little at a time until you reach your desired level of sweetness. To make heat equal parts sugar and water until dissolved.

Krystle's Tips: Steal My Culinary School Secrets

  1. Keep Everything Cold: I like to use cold ingredients and a chilled glass to slow down melting.
  2. Too thick? Add a splash more wine. Too thin? Add a few more berries.
