Philly Cheesesteak Dip
Tender steak and melty cheese make this creamy dip hard to resist. My philly cheesesteak dip tastes like your favorite sandwich but in appetizer form.

I am known for making unique dips. I've previously shared Crab Rangoon Dip, Reuben Dip, pepperoni pizza dip, and even bacon cheeseburger dip. This Phillysteak dip is our new favorite. It features all your favorite sandwich ingredients in a creamy, cheesy dip. Be sure to try our Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls too! It is rich and cheesy, with plenty of tender steak and flavorful veggies.
It is perfect for game day, game nights, and parties. Serve it alongside a big bowl of our caramel corn with peanuts while watching sports. However, it is so good you'll be looking for occasions to make it!
Why You'll Love This Recipe
- Rich and Creamy: Sour cream and cream cheese taste make a super creamy dip that tastes like heaven!
- One Pan: Everything cooks and bakes in one skillet. Yay, there are fewer dishes to do!
- Flavorful: We season each layer for flavor in every bite.
Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips

- Cream Cheese: Use full-fat cream cheese for the best results. Leave at room temperature for 30-60 minutes to soften.
- If you forgot to soften your cream cheese, you can also place the foil pack into a bowl of warm (not hot) water.
- Sour Cream: Use full-fat sour cream for the best results.
- Worcestershire Sauce: I love the tangy umami flavor this adds to beef. Look for it in the condiment aisle near the ketchup.
- Cheese: Provolone cheese is classic for cheesesteaks. I like using a mix of it and mozzarella. Ask for a chunk of it at the deli and shred it yourself. Freshly shredded cheese melts more smoothly.
- Butter and Oil: Choose an oil that has a high smoking point, like vegetable oil or avocado oil. Butter adds richness but, on its own, burns at high temperatures.
- Ribeye: We like the marbling and fat in these. Look for a cut with the ribeye cap which has more flavor than the eye. You could also use sirloin which is cheaper but leaner. If you don't want to cook your own steak, you could also try ground beef, premade steak fajita meat, or frozen Steak-Umms.

️Krystle's Tips️
- Uniform Veggie Cuts: Try to cut your veggies into even-sized pieces. This will help them cook evenly and ensure you don't get a large piece when dipping.
- Bring steak to room temperature and pat dry: This gives you a great sear and helps it cook evenly.
- Don't overcook the steak: It will continue cooking in the oven. We like ours medium at around 140-150 degrees.
- Rest Steak: Allow the steak to rest for 5-10 minutes before cutting. This allows the steak to reabsorb and redistribute the juices to help it stay moist and juicy.
A Sprinkle of Food science Cut Against the Grain
Look for the parallel lines running across the meat.
On ribeyes, this is often from top to bottom.
Cutting against the grain breaks up the muscle fibers into shorter segments, making every bite tender.
❓FAQs❓
No! Any oven-safe skillet will work. You could even layer everything in an 8x8 or 9x9 pan if desired.
Bread, Bagel Chips, potato chips, tortilla chips, crackers, veggies, or pretzels would all be great.
