Chicken Tater Tot Casserole
My chicken tater tot casserole is cheesy, creamy, and topped with crunchy bacon & crispy tots. This easy casserole is the ultimate comfort food for busy weeknights.

There are many nights when I'm tired and don't feel like cooking. But let's be honest I'm always hungry! This chicken tater tot casserole recipe is so easy to throw together and tastes great too! The flavor combo reminds me a lot of my crack chicken or my chicken bacon ranch pasta casserole. One bite and you'll realize why it's a family favorite. SO creamy. Kids gobble it up too: who doesn't love tots!
Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips

- Bacon: I prefer Hormel’s microwave bacon. It’s quick, mess-free, and perfectly crispy.
- Chicken: Rotisserie chicken is a quick and flavorful option. Also feel free to use leftover grilled chicken or even canned chicken.
- Cream of Chicken: Any cream soup works. Use what you have in your pantry like cream of celery, cream of onion, or even cream of bacon.
- Ranch Mix: You can use store-bought or make your own Homemade Ranch Dressing Mix.
- Tater Tots: I like mini tater tots as they cook faster and get extra crispy.
A Sprinkle Of Food Science
Shredded Cheese: For the best melty texture, grate your own cheese. Pre-shredded varieties also have anti caking agents which can be grainy when melted.
