Cape Codder Drink

Save For Later

My cape codder cocktail is a refreshing drink that is smooth, fruity, and never too sweet. It only requires 2 ingredients and is ready in minutes.

two cape codder drinks in glasses filled with ice and garnished with a lime wedge.

I love fruity cocktails this time of year like the Greyhound, the hurricane, a frozen pina colada, and the the Miami Vice. If you're not a fan of overly sweet cocktails, the Cape Codder just might be your new drink of choice! It is crisp, tart, and so refreshing. It's made with common ingredients and doesn't require a cocktail shaker or blender either. It's easy enough for brunch with friends, girls night in, and picnics. It's gorgeous red color also makes it perfect for holidays like Christmas or Valentines Day.

Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips

ingredients including Pinnacle vodka, lime, cranberry juice, and a can of club soda.
  1. Vodka: Use your favorite. I like the brand Pinnacle or Titos. A flavored vodka such as citrus, pomegranate, or berry would also be tasty. Use leftovers in our Madras drink or the Colorado bulldog.
  2. Cranberry Juice: I used Ocean Spray's cranberry juice cocktail for this recipe. Be sure to use cranberry juice cocktail as 100% cranberry juice would be extremely tart. Cran-Raspberry, Cran-Pomegrante, or even Cran-Watermelon would be fun variations just be aware if will change the color slightly.
  3. Lime Juice: Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor. It's so much better than those little plastic limes!
  4. Club Soda: Flavored sparkling water such as La Croix or soda pop like Sprite can also be used.

Fun Variations

Krystle's Tips

  1. Flavored Ice: Make ice cubes using Cranberry juice to avoid watering down your drink.
  2. Chill your glass to keep your drink icy cold.
  3. Get the most juice from your fruit: Rolling your lime will loosen the flesh a bit. It'll also be easier to squeeze if its warmer so try microwaving it for 20-30 seconds.
  4. Make It For a Crowd: Multiply your ingredients by your number of guests and serve in a pitcher instead. Top with club soda just before serving.
