I'm known for serving fun cocktails like my Fish Bowl Drink and my Chocolate Martini. I'd like to introduce you to my newest BFF!   Meet the Appletini! She is a fun, fruity cocktail that is super easy to make. It is sweet, tart, and always a crowd-pleaser. Best of all, you don't even need a blender!

Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips

ingredients on a wooden counter including apple vodka, apple cider, sour mix and apples.

When you only use 3 ingredients, it is important each tastes great and is high quality.

  1. Sour Mix: Sour mix is a sweetened lemon-lime juice mixture. I like using Sour Mix because it is so convenient. You can also try making it at home. Check out this DIY version from Serious Eats.
  2. Apple Cider: I used local homemade cider from my Farmer's Market. I like using cider because it has a more authentic apple flavor than juice. It is also less sweet. Don't panic if it looks cloudy; this is normal from the pulp and pectin.
  3. Apple Vodka: This vodka is sweet and tart like green apple candy. I like the brand Smirnoff. Stoli Gala is also good but less tart. You could substitute plain or caramel vodka, applejack brandy, or even apple schnapps.

Krystle's Tips

  1.  If you don't have a cocktail shaker, no worries. You can use any covered container.  I love using mason jars to make my cocktails. Even a sealable travel mug will do the trick; there is no fancy equipment here!
  2. Chill your glass and ingredients to keep your cocktail ice cold.

Prevent Your Apples From Turning Brown

Avoid brown apples by soaking your apples in 1 cup of water with ½ teaspoon of salt.
