We love deep fried pickles.  Super crispy on the outside, and tangy on the inside.

Fried dill pickles became very popular a few years ago, and many people were not sure at first. Nowadays deep fried pickles chips are on menus across the country.I order them every time I see them on a menu at a restaurant or bar! A deep fried pickle recipe has been on my list for a long time. You will be surprised at how easy is it to make deep fried pickles at home. They are easy to make, and turn out perfect every single time!

Deep Fried Pickles Ingredients

For the Best Deep Fried Pickles Use:

  • Dill Pickle Chips
  • Egg
  • Beer: Beer makes the deep fried pickle batter super light and airy. The beer also brings great flavor. If you have an aversion to beer, or you just don’t like it, you can substitute club soda. Its bubbles will help provide the same light and crispy texture.
  • Baking Powder
  • Seasoned Salt
  • Flour
  • Oil: I used vegetable oil for frying.

For the Spicy Ranch

  • Mayonnaise
  • Buttermilk
  • Ranch Seasoning
  • Cayenne
  • Hot Sauce

Deep Fried Pickles Recipe

  1. Drain Pickles: Don’t skip this step or your pickles could get soggy.
  2. Make Batter: In a large bowl, combine egg, baking powder, beer, and seasoned salt. Add in flour.
  3. In a large skillet heat about 1 1/2 inches of oil to 375 degrees F.
  4. Fry: Dip in batter and fry for about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Dip: In a small bowl combine all dip ingredients.

What Sauce Goes with Deep Fried Pickles?
I like a creamy sauce that has a slight kick to it which is why I made this spicy ranch.   Other yummy options to consider are blue cheese, honey mustard, or even fry sauce.

How Do You Reheat Deep Fried Pickles?
Deep fried pickles are best served fresh. Do not want heat them back up in the microwave. The microwave will make the deep fried pickle chips soggy. When you are trying to reheat the pickles, you have two choices. I prefer to can also broil the pickles in the oven for just a few minutes. You can pan fried the pickles. with just a little bit of oil in a pan.

Can You Bake Them Instead?
You can bake deep fried pickles, just keep in mind they will not be quite as crispy. I prefer to deep fry my pickle chips because I like the way they come out better. However, if you prefer you can bake them at 450 degrees F for 10-15 minutes.

Ingredients

For the Fried Pickles

  • 1 Jar Dill Pickles, Drained
  • 1 Egg
  • 12 Ounces Beer
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Seasoning Salt
  • 1 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • Vegetable Oil, For Frying

For the Spicy Ranch

For the Fried Pickles

  • Pat pickles dry with paper towels. 
  • In a large bowl, combine egg, beer, baking powder,  and seasoning salt. Add in flour. 
  • Heat ~ 1 1/2 inches of oil in a large dutch oven until it reaches 375 degrees.
  • Fry in batches for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Drain on paper towels.

For the Spicy Ranch

  • In a small bowl, combine all ingredients.
