This vanilla bean frappuccino is cool and creamy with the perfect vanilla flavor you crave. I love that it is both quicker and cheaper than what you can get at Starbucks.

Ditch the drive-through: Make this copycat Starbucks Vanilla Frappuccino at Home

I love coffee, but when I'm craving something different, this vanilla bean frappuccino hits the spot. I bet you can whip it up faster than you can get through the Starbucks line. It's also great for kids who want a fancy drink like Mommy too. Enjoy with copycat Starbucks baked goods like lemon loaf or gingerbread loaf for the ultimate indulgence.

Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips

a collage of milk, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla beans.
  1. Milk: Use whole milk for the creamiest drink.
  2. Heavy Cream: Don't leave out the cream, as it gives it a luscious, rich texture.
  3. Vanilla: You can use vanilla extract or vanilla beans here.

Avoid Imitation vanilla

Since this recipe has so few ingredients we want every ingredient to pack as much flavor as possible. It's flavor can be harsh and one note.

️Krystle's Tips and Tricks️

  1. Ice Ice Baby: I prefer ice made from bottled or filtered water for a neutral taste. Crushed ice blends more evenly than cubes too.
  2. Use a high-speed blender for a silky smooth drink. I like the Vitamix.
  3. Thickening: Starbucks uses Xanthan gum to thicken its drinks, but I cannot find it at my local small-town store. If your drink is thinner than you'd like, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla instant pudding mix.
  4. Working With Vanilla Beans: Use a sharp knife to split the bean in half lengthwise. Scoop out the beans with a knife or small spoon.

Keep YOur Vanilla Bean Pods

You paid a lot for these bad boys so put them to work! Use to poach fruit or infuse into sugar or salt.

  15. This is the kind of stuff that saves lives. And wallets. And the embarrassment of the Starbucks girl knowing my name and order by heart. For real though, looks amazing!

    1. LOL!! There is a certain restaurant around here that known my order -hangs head in shame-.
