Pizza Grilled Cheese
My pepperoni pizza grilled cheese has the pizza flavor you crave in a super easy to make grilled cheese sandwich. Tons of spicy pepperoni and gooey cheese make this an irresistible lunch or dinner!

Pizza is one of our favorite family dinners. I love making unique flavor combinations like bacon cheeseburger or chicken alfredo. However, some nights I just don't feel like mixing or rolling dough. Instead of calling for delivery or opening Door Dash we love to make this delish pizza grilled cheese. It combines my two favorite comfort foods into one indulgent sandwich.
It's perfect for busy weeknights, a snow day lunch, or even game day!
❤️Why You'll Love This Recipe❤️
- Starting with baked Texas toast adds tons of flavor and also helps prevent the bread from getting soggy.
- Crunchy Pepperoni: Adds the perfect crunch just like your favorite from the pizza shop.
- Ready In No Time: Super fast to make when you (or your kiddos) are hangry.
Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips

- Texas Toast: I love using the butter and garlic Texas toast from the freezer aisle. You could also make homemade. Any thick sturdy bread like Italian, ciabatta, or even focaccia would be wonderful.
- Avoid ultra thin breads which may not hold up to our toppings.
- Mozzarella Cheese: Bring to room temperature while you bake your bread to ensure even melting. Make sure to use low moisture slices.
- Fresh mozzarella won't melt as smoothly and will release too much liquid.
- Pizza Sauce: My favorite is Del Grosso's Pappy Fred's pizza sauce.
Take It To The Next Level
For added texture we like to air fry or pan fry the pepperoni for a few minutes. It develops crispy crunchy edges just like Pizza Hut.

️Krystle's Tips️
- No Soggy Bread Here: Spread the sauce on top of the cheese instead of directly on the bread to keep the sandwich from getting soggy.
- Control the Heat: Cook over medium-low heat to allow the cheese to melt fully without burning the bread.
- Keep Warm: Finished sandwiches can be kept warm in a 250°F oven while you cook the rest.
Use a Griddle To Cook In Batches
If you’re feeding a crowd, use a griddle to cook multiple sandwiches at once.
