Blue Margarita
These incredibly refreshing blue margaritas are SO easy to make. They only require four ingredients, and they don't require a blender or cocktail shaker!

My blue margarita is one of the most gorgeous summer drinks out there! Doesn't the color remind you of tropical waters? They taste amazing, too, with a bright citrus flavor. They're great for hot summer days, patriotic parties, or celebrating special occasions. I'd suggest double or even tripling the recipes for parties, as these go down easy! I like enjoying these over ice in a glass. However, it would also be fantastic frozen. Blend with ice in a blender for a fabulous frozen concoction! Kids wanting in on the blue drink fun? Whip them up a nonalcoholic Sonic Ocean water instead!
Ingredient Notes/Shopping Tips

- Tequila: Use blanco tequila. Its mild flavor allows the other ingredients to shine. In addition, its clear color allows the blue color to be the star. I like Patron and Casamigos best. Jose Cuervo is also a good choice.
- Use Leftovers In: Tequila Sunrise, Liquid Marijuana, or Frozen Strawberry Margaritas
- Triple Sec: I like Cointreau. Bols is also a good budget option.
- Substitutions: Grand Marnier is more expensive as it's a blend of orange liqueur and cognac.
- Use Leftovers In: Hippie Juice or Watermelon Margs
- Lime Juice: Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor. I find bottled versions to be too acidic.
- Blue Curacao: It is orange forward and slightly more bitter than triple sec. I like Drillauds. Bols is also good.
- Use Leftovers In: Blue Hawaiis, or Blue Lagoons

Everything about this is perfect. It's refreshing, has just the right amount of booze, and the color is wonderful.
I need to make this for a group of 20, can you share ingredient amounts?
Hi Tiffany,
You can make this for any size group as long as you keep the ratios the same. A good rule of thumb is to multiply the quantities by the number of people you're trying to serve.
How would I make these by the gallon fir a wedding reception?
Hi Lauren,
You can make as many as you want as long as you keep the ratios the same. Just multiply the ingredients by the number of people you want to serve.
This is a must try for me and I’ll be blending them. Can’t wait to try. All I need is the blue curaçao
Yay, please let me know what you think Joseph. Cheers!
Looks delicious, will definitely make it
Yay, please let us know how they turn out Dorid!
We made them according to recipe. Delicious, but would reduce lime juice to 1/3 cup or to your taste. We felt 2/3 cup lime juice over powered the drink.
Thanks for sharing your modification Kerri! Cheers!
