Bee's Knees Cocktail
My Bee's Knees cocktail features tangy lemon, sweet honey, and floral gin. This easy drink is super simple to make yet feels sophisticated.

I love easy cocktails that taste way harder to make than they actually are like my amaretto sour and my tequila sunrise. It was invented during Prohibition, when bartenders used honey and lemon to mask the flavor of bathtub gin. which is. Today, with access to amazing gin and local honey, this Bee's Knees cocktail is right at home at an elegant dinner party.
Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips

- Lemons: Always use fresh lemon juice as it tends to be more flavorful and less acidic than the bottled kind. Each lemon will yield abut 1 ounce of juice. I like to roll my lemon on the counter to burst the juice sacs to get the most juice possible.
- Gin: I used New Amsterdam which is light on the juniper and has a pop of citrus flavor. If you prefer a more juniper heavy gin I suggest Hendrick's or Tanqueray.
- Honey: Nothing beats the flavor of local wildflower honey.

Krystle's Tips: Steal My Culinary School Secrets
- Chill Glass: Around 5-10 minutes in the freezer will keep your drink cold without any additional ice.
- Garnish Alternative: Rub a strip of lemon peel around the glass of the rim to add flavor aroma without a messy floating garnish.
