Blue Hawaii Drink
My blue Hawaii cocktail features flavors of pineapple and coconut. One sip of this gorgeous drink will transport you somewhere warm and sunny.

My Blue Hawaii Cocktail Will Transport You To Paradise
I love tropical cocktails like Pina Coladas and pineapple margaritas. Another of my favorites is the Blue Hawaii. I first had it at beach bar while in Delaware, and knew I needed to recreate it at home. This Blue Hawaii cocktail will transport you straight to a place with pale white sand and softly crashing waves. It tastes like the tropics with delicious pineapple and coconut flavors. It perfect for relaxing after work, pool parties, BBQs and patriotic holiday gatherings like the 4th of July.
Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips

- Coconut Rum: My favorite brand to use in this recipe is Malibu. If you're not a fan of coconut white rum can be used instead.
- Also Try It In: The Bahama Mama
- Pineapple Juice: You can use juice from a can of pineapple rings, or buy individual cans in the juice aisle.
- Blue Curacao: I like the brand Dekuyper.
- Use Leftovers In: Blue Lagoons, Blue Margaritas, Sex in the Driveway, or my Fish Bowl Drink
Krystle's Tips
- Chill: Chill all ingredients as well as your glass for an icy cold drink.
- Pineapple Ice: Avoid a watered-down drink by making pineapple juice ice cubes.
- Shake Shake Shake: You can use a cocktail shaker, a mason jar, or even a travel mug. Whatever you have is fine as long as everything gets mixed together. We are not fancy here!
Tropical Glass Idea
For a tropical vibe: use a hollowed-out coconut or pineapple.
It comes down to the color of your pineapple juice. If your juice is very yellow in color it can combine with the blue curacao to appear greener in color. To fix try adding a little more blue curacao or blue food coloring.
To serve 10 people, multiply your ingredients by ten like this:
10 Ounces Coconut Rum
10 Ounces Blue Curacao
20 Ounces Pineapple Juice
Serve in a pitcher or punch bowl and garnish with fruit if desired.

My parents used to make this, back in the 1960s! I don't know if coconut rum existed back then, but this was a frequent drink in the backyard, in the hot Texas summers. I'm going to try it again this summer.
This cocktail is the perfect addition to my summer cocktail recipes! Everyone loves it!
This is a fantastic drink. Pineapple and coconut are one of my favorite drink combos and I love the pretty blue! I will definitely be sipping these by the pool all summer long.
Dang, I have to make this more often. It was soooo tasty!
I mixed up a Blue Hawaii cocktail, and it was like a mini-vacation in a glass!
