Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips
Rum
: I prefer to use white rum. Avoid dark rum which can be too overpowering in a fruity drink.
Grenadine
: Look for it near the mixers and tonic water at your grocery store.
Strawberries
: Fresh or frozen will work well.
Pineapple
: Avoid canned pineapple if possible which may be too sweet from the syrup it is packed in.
Lime
: Use freshly squeezed if possible.
Krystle's Tips
Lime Hack:
Get the most juice from your limes by rolling them on the counter or microwaving them for 20-30 seconds.
Adjust Ice
: Add more ice for a slushier drink and less for a thinner drink.
Clean Your Blender:
Rinse your blender out between layers to avoid accidentally combining your colors.
