Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips
Baileys Irish Cream: Baileys is a creamy liquor with chocolate and vanilla notes. It is made with Irish Whiskey and has 17% alcohol by volume. Store leftover Baileys at room temperature for up to a year. Use the leftover Baileys here or here.
Milk: Use whole milk for the creamiest drink.
Chocolate: I like using semi sweet chocolate. Chocolate chips have stabilizers to prevent them from fully melting in the oven. Because of this I suggest using baking chocolate bars, not chocolate chips.
Tips
Chopping Chocolate: Chop chocolate using a large serrated knife working from the corner inwards.
Add Peppermint: Add peppermint schnapps for a super festive treat.
Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate sauce for an extra decadent treat.
Make it Nonalcoholic: Use Bailey's coffee cream in place of the booze.
