Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips
Wine
: Any dry red wine that you enjoy drinking will do. I used a Spanish Rioja. Other good options would be a Merlot or Pinot Noir.
Triple Sec:
I like Jacquin's.
Limeade:
Look for this in your grocery store's freezer aisle near the frozen orange juice.
Tequila
: I suggest using a Silver tequila. I like Patron, Jose Cuervo, and Casamigos best.
Krystle's Tips
Prep Work:
Make the sangria part a few hours in advance and blend up the margarita part as needed. Keep chilled.
Juice correctly
: Get the most juice out of your limes and oranges by rolling them on the counter, or microwaving for a few seconds before juicing.
Clean As You Go:
Don't skip washing out the blender, or your drink won't have 2 distinctive colors.
Salty or Sweet
: If you're not a fan, use sugar instead for a sweet twist. Run a lime wedge over the rim to make sure it sticks.
