Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips
Tequila: For this drink, I recommend an unaged Blanco tequila which has a fresh mild flavor. Look for one that is 100% agave. I like Patron. Jose Cuervo is also good.
Orange juice: Freshly squeezed is best. I like to strain through a fine mesh strainer to remove any pulp. You can also use store-bought pulp free OJ.
Grenadine syrup: Grenadine is a syrup available in the mixers section of your grocery store. I found mine near the tonic waters. Look for one made with real pomegranate syrup for the best flavor. I like the brand Collins.
Tips
Get The Most Juice From Your Oranges: Roll on the counter and microwave them for 10-20 seconds to release as much juice as possible.
Keep Layers Separate: Pour the grenadine syrup carefully down the side of the glass or over the back of a spoon so it doesn’t splash.
