Hot Chocolate and Marshmallow Thumbprint Cookies

Hot Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies


  • <b> For the Hot Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies </b>
  • 1/2 Cup Butter, Softened
  • 2/3 Cup White Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tablespoons Whole Milk
  • 2 Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1/3 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • Pinch of Salt, to Taste
  • <b>For the Marshmallow Frosting</b>
  • 1/2 Cup Butter, Softened
  • 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 3 1/2 Ounces Marshmallow Creme
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract


  • <b> For the Hot Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies </b>
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar together.
  • Stir in milk, egg, cocoa powder and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add flour a little a time a time until just combined. Do not over mix.
  • Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Form dough into ~1 inch balls. Make an indentation with your thumb in the center of each cookie.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the center is just set. Cool completely.
  • <b> For the Marshmallow Frosting </b>
  • Cream butter and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  • Gradually add in powdered sugar a little at a time. Fold in marshmallow cream.
  • Pipe or spoon into the center of the cookie.
