Breakfast Burger

Breakfast Burger: Juicy burgers topped with sweet and smoky bacon jam, and a fried egg. You'll never want another burger again!

Ingredients

For the Bacon Jam

  • 1 Pound Bacon, Roughly Chopped
  • 1 Onion, Minced
  • 4 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • ½ Cup Brown Sugar
  • ¼ Cup Maple Syrup
  • ½ Cup Strong Brewed Coffee
  • 1 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon Stone Ground Mustard

For the Breakfast Burgers

  • 2 Pounds Ground Beef
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste
  • 6 Toasted Buns
  • 6 Slices Cheddar Cheese
  • Thinly Sliced Red Onion
  • Leaf Lettuce
  • Ketchup
  • 6 Fried Eggs

Instructions

For The Bacon Jam

  • In a large dutch oven cook bacon until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels.
  • Reserve one tablespoon of bacon grease. Heat to medium low. Cook onion in bacon grease for 5-7 minutes or until softened. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  • Stir in bacon.
  • Add in brown sugar, maple syrup, coffee, balsamic vinegar, and mustard. Cook for 25-30 minutes or until thickened.

For the Breakfast Burgers

  • In a large bowl combine ground beef, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.Form into 6 even patties.
  • Heat grill pan  or skillet over medium high heat. Cook burgers for 3-5 minutes per side, or until you reach your desired level of doneness. Top with cheese, Cover with foil and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • While cheese is melting fry eggs.
  • Spread bottom buns with ketchup. Top with burger,lettuce and ,red onion. Top that with fried egg.
  • Spread bacon jam over the top bun halves. Squish and enjoy!
