Viral Dubai Chocolate Bar Recipe
My Dubai Chocolate bar recipe features smooth milk chocolate filled with a creamy pistachio filling with crunchy kadaifi. My easy homemade recipe brings expensive luxury chocolate to your home kitchen for a fraction of the cost.

I love making homemade candy like mint chocolate fudge, peanut butter oreo truffles, and copycat Cadbury eggs. This copycat Dubai chocolate bar is my favorite to date. If you've been seeing them all over your feed, but don't want to shell out 15 bucks a bar, this recipe is for you. You can make a whole batch for that price! They are creamy, crunchy, and incredibly addicting.
Why Our Recipe Is the Best: A Sprinkle of Food Science
- EASY Tempered Chocolate: Tempered chocolate is shiny and has a perfect snap when you break it. We do this in the microwave by mixing melted and un-melted chocolate. The stable cocoa butter crystals in the room temperature chocolate encourage the melted chocolate to set up the same way.
- Crunchy Not Soggy Filling: Toasting dried chopped phyllo dough in butter kept it crispy longer than using oil or fresh phyllo dough in our recipe testing.

Ingredient Notes/Shopping Tips
- Milk Chocolate: Look for a high quality chocolate bar that contains cocoa butter. Avoid chocolate or candy melts made with ingredients like vegetable oil or palm oil which will be waxy, dull, and lack flavor. Guittard is worth the splurge. Lindt and Ghirardelli are also great options available in most grocery stores. You can use dark chocolate if desired.
- Pistachio Cream: Be sure to use pistachio cream not pistachio butter. Look for a high quality brand with pistachios high on the ingredient list. I like Marco Colzani's.
- Tahini: I love the creaminess and nutty flavor this brings, but you can leave it out or replace with a nut butter like cashew or almond if desired.
- Kadaifi: This is super fine shredded phyllo dough.. You may also see it spelled Kataifi. Look for it in Middle Eastern stores or on Amazon. We found the dried version stayed crunchier longer. You could use cornflakes or Rice Krispie's for crunch if you cannot find this ingredient.

Krystle's Tips: Steal My Culinary School Secrets
- Keep Water Away From Chocolate: Even a small amount can make the chocolate seize and become clumpy. Make sure your bowl and tools are completely dry.
- Cool Kadaifi Slightly: This gives steam time to evaporate which could make it soggy.
- Leave a Border: Don't spread the filling all the way to the edges or the filling may ooze out.
Store at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. Avoid humid areas like near the sink or stove as well as sunlight and heat. Also, avoid the fridge which can cause it to turn white. I suggest a cupboard or pantry.
