Smashbox Photofinish Primer Review

Save For Later

Disclosure: The Smashbox Photo finish primer featured in this review was bought with my own money.

Because of my severe acne scarring, foundation can often make me look worse. Liquid foundations can settle into the little holes and give me a bad case of “crater face”. To help combat this effect I rely on a primer to fill up these little holes, and to make foundation glide over them.

My favorite of the moment is the Smashbox Photofinish Primer.

Smashbox says: Create a perfect canvas for foundation with this silky lightweight blend of Vitamins A & E, grape seed extract and green tea.

Baking Beauty says: This colorless primer makes my skin look and feel so smooth.

Texture:5/5

This product features a gel/silicone like texture. This makes it perfect for filling in fine lines/pores, and building up the areas around my scars.

It doesn’t make my skin look 100% flawless, but it looks so much more even than without primer.

Lasting Power:4/5

I didn’t notice any difference in the wear of my makeup. However I felt like the filling effect of this primer quit/got absorbed after around 6 hours.

Ease of use/How to use:5/5

To use it, I just pat it into my skin using 2 layers on certain problem areas.

Packaging:5/5

Value:5/5

This primer can make your foundation look so much better. In addition, Sephora sells travel sizes if you want to try it out without paying full price.
