This juicy quesadilla burger features spicy jalapeno and creamy avocado ,stuffed inside a crispy tortilla. This copycat recipe is the ultimate mashup.
I love biting into a thick and juicy hamburger with fresh fixings. Top it off with a flavorful sauce and I’m a happy girl. You can make almost anything into a burger. You have to try my new mash up: the quesadilla burger.
It is inspired by Applebee’s quesadilla burger? It is the stuff my dreams are made of. Everyone dreams about two of their favorite things coming together in one lip-smacking concoction. Right? Right?! Be right back I think the men in white coats are at my door again!
This recipe is amazing and super filling. My mouth is watering even as I remember its deliciousness.

What Is A Quesadilla Burger?
It is simply a burger inside two crispy flour tortillas stuffed with cheese. It brings together the best of both dishes in one great bite. My favorite part is that the flour tortillas become super crunchy. So much better than a soft bun!
Ingredient Notes
First, we have flour tortillas and a hamburger patty of course. Then my favorite part the toppings! It is also topped with lettuce, tons of cheese, pico de gallo, bacon and mexi-ranch sauce. I love ranch on everything!
How To Make A Quesadilla Burger
You’ll want to start off getting your ingredients together. It’s just a few basic spices ,onion and garlic. Mix those together thoroughly to make sure we have flavor in every bite.
Then, go ahead and make two patties. I like mine on the thick side, but for this recipe you’ll want to make them as wide as you can. We want the burger to cover as much of the tortilla as possible!
Next, cook your burger the way you like it. I like mine well done with no pink. While they are in the skillet, we’ll work on our toppings. Remember if my ingredients don’t suit your taste, feel free to switch things up!
We’ll cook our tortillas in the same skillet. Be sure to cook on both sides for maximum crispiness. Then we’ll add our cheese until it is nice and melty.
Finally add your toppings ,and cut in half. Make sure to have plenty of napkins on hand, these bad boys are messy!
How to Make Burger Patties That Won’t Fall Apart
It’s not as hard as you think. I used to have problems with this, but I’ve learned the colder you keep the meat the less likely it is to fall apart. Fresh out of the fridge is best! Avoid fillings it possible, and add flavor on top instead. In addition, if all else fails you can add an egg. It makes things sticky and can help hold the patty together. (Kind of like how it holds cookie dough together!)
Cooking on The Stove
When most people think of burgers, they think of grilling. I actually cook mine on the stove top more often than not! The best pan to use is a cast iron skillet.
Before you put it in make sure the pan is very hot. This will ensure a nice sear on your meat. Flip it over just one time when you can see the sides beginning to brown. Try to resist poking ,or flattening them, so the juices don’t escape. The juices are the best part!
Finally, add the other tortilla and top anyway you want. Get ready to wipe your chin because this burger is messy!
Cooking Times
If you’re looking for a medium rare burger, you can cook it for three minutes on one side ,and about four minutes on the opposite side. For well done, I like to do three minutes on one side ,and six minutes on the other side. Cooking time will also depend on the size and thickness.
