Oreo Poke Cake
My moist Oreo Poke cake uses America's favorite cookie in three different ways. This cake recipe is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

I love Oreos. No matter what sweet I have in the house I'll always grab 1 or 2 after dinner or for a late-night snack. So far I've shared Oreo Cookies, Oreo shakes, and no-bake oreo cheesecake on the blog. This oreo poke cake might just be my favorite yet! Poke cakes are typically sheet cakes will with pudding or jello. Add chocolate chips, sprinkles, hot fudge, or even vanilla ice cream to make it even more decadent.
Why I Love This Cake
- Oreo Overload: I use Oreos in the cake, filling, and topping. You'll get some in every bite.
- Easy: This easy ready in less than 45 minutes.
- No Special Equipment: No mixer is required!
- Creamy Topping: The topping gives me major milk and cookies vibes!

Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips
- Cake Mix: Use your favorite. I used Betty Crocker's Chocolate Fudge flavor. Yellow cake would also be tasty.
- Oreo Pudding: I found the oreo pudding at Walmart. If you can't find it feel free to use vanilla pudding with some finely chopped Oreos instead.
- Milk: Pudding sets best when used with whole milk.
- Cool Whip: Thaw Cool Whip overnight in the fridge. Avoid microwaving it. It works best for this dessert as it will hold up longer than fresh whipped cream.
How To Make Oreo Poke Cake
- Bake cake according to box directions.
- Combine pudding and milk. Poke holes in cake and pour over.
- Frost with Cool Whip and garnish with Oreos.

Tips
- How To Tell When It's Done: Cake is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. If you see raw better keep baking for a few minutes at a time.
- Perfect Poking: Poke holes using the handle of a wooden spoon. Poke around 1-2 inches apart to ensure you get some pudding in every bite.
- Add Oreos just before serving to ensure they don't get soggy.
The filling should be poured when the cake is warm but not piping hot. If the cake is too hot, the filling may absorb unevenly, leaving some parts soggy.
Also, avoid poking the holes too close together, which can cause the cake to lose structure.
Use Cool Whip if possible. Even stabilized whipped cream will not hold up as well as whipped topping does. If you can't eat Cool Whip you can use whipped cream if you plan to eat the entire cake in a day or 2.

Notes
-
- Cake Mix: I used Betty Crocker's Chocolate Fudge flavor. Also, be sure to grab the ingredients called for on the box.
- Oreo Pudding: I found the Oreo pudding at Walmart
- If you can't find it, feel free to use vanilla pudding with some finely chopped Oreos instead.
- Be sure whatever kind of pudding you use is instant, NOT cook and serve.
- Milk: Pudding sets best when used with whole milk.
- Cool Whip: Thaw Cool Whip overnight in the fridge. Avoid microwaving it, as this can cause it to separate.
- Perfect Poking: Poke holes using the handle of a wooden spoon while the cake is still warm.
- Poke around 1-2 inches apart to ensure you get some pudding in every bite.
- Gently tap your pan on the counter to help the pudding move downwards.
- How To Tell When It's Done: The cake is done when a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs. If you see raw, batter, keep baking for a few minutes at a time.
- Garnish Last: Add Oreos just before serving to ensure they don't get soggy.
- Be sure not to poke the whole way through the cake or your filling will pool at the bottom and make the poke cake soggy.

I just made the Oreo poke cake and it’s delicious! Super easy and a hit with everyone. You need to try this!
Just want to point out that in the recipe ingredients you state "one box Oreo Instant Pudding" Since there is not product called "Oreo instant pudding" I searched and found in your picture of the ingredients it is really "Oreo cookies and cream instant pudding" even though the difference won't make it any easier to find in my area. But I can't wait to find it and to make this cake, because I too, have been an Oreo lover since I was a kid.
