Orange Creamsicle Ice Cream
My orange creamsicle ice cream is ultra creamy and features the perfect balance of orange and vanilla flavors. This easy no-churn ice cream will take you back to enjoying orange creamsicles as a kid.

I love no-churn ice cream. It is so easy and always comes out unbelievably creamy. It's great for cones, sundaes, or just eating with a spoon out of the freezer at midnight. Not that I've ever done that or anything... So far I've shared unique creations like Birthday Cake, Bubblegum, Blue Moon ,and even Cotton Candy Ice Cream on the blog. However, this Orange creamsicle ice cream is my new favorite for summer. It is perfect for birthdays, summer parties, or just as an afterschool snack.
Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips
- Heavy Cream: Make sure it is ice cold to help it whip faster. Whole milk or plant-based milk is not recommended as the end result will not be as creamy.
- Orange Oil: I used the brand Lorann Oils. You can find it in craft stores or online. Make sure whatever oil you use is food-grade.
- Sweetened Condensed Milk: Make sure to use sweetened condensed which has sugar added NOT evaporated milk. Look for it in the baking aisle near the cake mixes or chocolate chips.
- Gel Food Coloring: Use gel food coloring for a brighter color without excess liquid. Just a few drops will give you a bright vibrant color.
How To Make Orange Creamsicle Ice Cream
- Mix: Whip cream. Then fold in sweetened condensed milk, orange oil, and vanilla.
- Dye: Leave one bowl white and dye the remaining two bowls various shades of orange.
- Freeze: Spoon into a freezer-safe container and freeze for 6 hours.
Leftovers
- Storage: Store in the freezer in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Did you know?
Store near the back of your freezer, where temperatures are more consistent.
FAQs
Judging how to evenly divide the ice cream mixture before adding the food dye can be specific. I like to use a food scale to get them more even.
️Krystle's Tips and Tricks️
- Keep everything Cold: Keep your bowl, beaters, and all ingredients cold to help them to whip faster. I like to put my sweetened condensed milk in the fridge about 24 hours in advance.
- Whip It Real Good: Make sure the cream is thoroughly whipped, as this will give us light and airy ice cream. A whisk or a mixer will both work fine.
- Prevent Iciness: Press a piece of plastic wrap onto the top of the ice cream before replacing the lid to prevent ice crystals from forming.
- Mix-Ins: Take your ice cream to the next level by adding mixins such as white chocolate chips, sprinkles, graham crackers, or marshmallows.
Krystle's Note:
I like to use a chilled bowl and my Grandma's vintage egg beaters. I just checked, and they're available on eBay for less than 10 bucks!
