National Dessert Month
This post brought to you by . All opinions are 100% mine.
I was born with a sweet tooth. I’m pretty sure I came out of the womb demanding why my milk wasn’t chocolate. However, in our very small town there was no bakery. Even, the small grocery store did not have a bakery section.
Therefore,my Mom always let me buy Hostess Cupcakes or an Apple Pie as a treat on the weekends. We#’d enjoy them while watching movies on television.
Now that I’ve gotten older, I like to put my own twist on Hostess classics.
For example, for Halloween we’re making Ding Dong Cats. They have the delicious Hostess Cakes flavor with an adorable twist.
I also LOVE these Plankton Desserts from Spongebob Squarepants. Can you believe they are made out of twinkies?
In addition, when watching football, we also incorporate Twinkies. I like a good balance of sweet and salty treats. So along with the pretzels and potato chips, we love to serve deep fried twinkies while we root on the Dallas Cowboys.
As a foodie I’ve even considered being a cupcake for Halloween. Seriously how cute is this skirt?
I often use food as a motivator, especially sweets. Sometimes my college course work can be really dull. I tell myself that if I read 10 pages I can have a cupcake. Then if I finish the essay, I can have the other one.
Writing this post has made me really hungry. Since I’m caught up on blogging, and homework I think I deserve a little treat. Those ding dongs in the kitchen are calling my name!
