Mockingjay Movie Launch(Last Updated On: August 4, 2020)
Disclaimer: I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Lions Gate. I received a book, products, and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
One of my favorite ways to de-stress and relax is with a good book. I’ve been a fan of the Hunger Games series since it first came out 2008.
Many people consider it a “book for teens”. However, I disagree! After a long day of work, I don’t want to read the next great american novel. The simple yet captivating prose of Susan Collins just flies by as you’re reading it. The plot also makes it nearly impossible to put down.
I also think the story is a must read/watch for girls/women of all ages. So many stories focus on male heroes with female sidekicks. I love that Katniss and strong and self sufficient. I can really relate to the loyalty she has for her family and her desire to confront her fears. She makes a great role model for young girls to look up to.
While the books were good, the movies have really blown me away.
I didn’t want to see the first movie. I.e. Kids killing kids on the big screen? No thanks! But they’re so tastefully done and the special effects are mind blowing. You also can’t beat the A list stars’ acting!
The first half of the final movie (Mockingjay) is coming out soon.
To celebrate the launch I had some girlfriends over for a hunger games party. We discussed the book, watched the movie preview, and gossiped about Peeta vs. Gale. 😉
Mockingjay starring Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth is coming to theaters this November. After watching the preview, I can’t wait!
Mockingjay part one focuses on the war between District 12 and The Capital. I know that President Snow is the bad guy, but his acting is superb. We all agreed he is the one character we love to hate!
Are you planning to go see Mockingjay Part 1 in theaters? Have you read the book yet?
