a bright green mermaid drink garnished with maraschino cherries and lime.

I love bright-colored fruity links like the blue lagoon, the blue Hawaii, and of course, the Bob Marley. This mermaid water drink is another great choice. It features fruity flavors like orange, banana, and pineapple. It is great for sipping poolside or on the desk on warm summer nights. t's also always a hit at girls night or for book club meetings.

Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips

spiced rum, banana rum, blue curacao, pineapple juice, and lime wedges on a dark wood counter.
  • Banana Rum: You could also use regular rum if you'd prefer. I like Cruzan's banana rum. It tastes like fresh bananas with a hint of caramel.
  • Spiced Rum: I like Bacardi, which is aged in charred oak, which gives it some smokiness. Captain Morgan is good too. It is flavored with warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of vanilla.
  • Blue Curacao: This liquor is made from the peel of the Laraha fruit. It is orange forward similar to Triple Sec. I like the brand Bols but Dekuyper will also do in a pinch.
  • Pineapple Juice: Look for 100% juice with no added sugar. I used Dole.

Lime Juice

Use freshly squeezed for the best flavor.
