Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation Powder Review

Save For Later

Ahh lazy Sundays. My day today consisted of reading a book (Murder on the Orient Expresso[not a typo]) and watching football.

However, I decided after lunch that I wanted to make taco dip as a dinner side dish.

I didn’t bother doing my makeup or hair since I wasn’t planning on going out today. However, I also wasn’t going to do a full face just to run to the store.

Why is that you always run into people when you look your worst? Oh God here comes the high school beauty queen. Maybe if I just hide behind this giant stack of goldfish she won’t see me.

My solution?

Powder foundation. It only takes a few seconds to apply, but it can make a world of difference. Powder, mascara and lipgloss and I’m ready to face the world.

My latest favorite is Laura Mercier’s Smooth Finish Foundation Powder.

Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Foundation Powder Review

Laura Mercier says:Second skin comfort meets color-true wear, wet or dry. This silky-smooth innovation offers a natural veil that imparts a color true finish. It glides on effortlessly, camouflages, hydrates and visibly reduces lines.

Baking Beauty says: This powder provides light/medium coverage without settling into lines.

My shade is 01 which is a light beige with yellow undertones. It is pigmented enough to lightly conceal redness and even my skin tone. Blemishes may still peek through but they are visibly diminished. You can always add concealer and then set with this powder.

The powder is soft, smooth, and doesn’t settle into lines/scars.

Ease of use:5/5

I just apply with a fluffy kabui and blend in a circular motion.

Lasting Power:4/5

This lasted for around 6 hours on me before I felt it needed touching up.

The packaging has a mirror and a powder puff compartment. I don’t like using the included puff so I thought the extra compartment wasn’t really needed.

If you like light, natural coverage this is a good investment!
