-shifty grin-
When I spotted Eggnog at our local supermarket last week, I was pumped! I immediately picked some up to drink and use in recipes (like this Eggnog Fudge recipe!!) I’ve also got an Eggnog Cheesecake in the works so stay tuned!
At checkout the cashier said “Wow they really are rushing the season”.
Wut…….
I just smiled and nodded. Let’s just pretend I haven’t been listening to Christmas music, buying cookie cookbooks, and planning home decor for the past month! 😉
P.S. I’m not coming to your checkout line anymore! #Bye

What do you think of this Eggnog Fudge recipe? What’s you favorite holiday flavor?
How long do you let it set before cutting into it and does it have to be in the refrigerator to set?
I kept mine in the fridge for a few hours.
I made it and it tastes phenomenal but the consistency is more marshmallow than fudge. Any idea what I could have done wrong?
Glad to hear the taste was on good. Sorry to hear the consistency wasn’t. Did you use a candy thermometer? Did you store it in the fridge?
How long does it need to sit before you can cut and serve it? Should I put it in the fridge or leave it out?
Mine is too liquidity to cut.
I kept mine in the fridge and that helped it firm up to slice!
My fudge is still very soft. Did I do something wrong or will it take a while? It tastes AMAZING!
Yay so glad you liked it Barb. Mine hardened up in the fridge.
Made this the other day and it is amazing! I used Lindor white chocolate bars instead of chips because the store was all out of the Ghirardelli and store brand is gross. After it was done i put it in the fridge and left it there over night. It is creamy but firm. Make sure you heat the egg nog, butter, and sugar on the stove for about 20 mi before you start to boil it. This will fully dissolve the sugar so you don’t get grainy fudge. I also line a 9×13 glass casserole dish with parchment paper whenever I make fudge, it’s so much easier to get out. When I made this I wanted to add some nutmeg to the top, so I just sprinkled nutmeg onto the parchment paper before I poured the fudge in. Then when you flip it over to cut it, the nutmeg is on the top!
Those are GREAT tips, thanks for sharing Brianna!
Is this eggnog with or without the booze?
Without! I just used store bought.
can it be made in advance and frozen?
Yes I think that would be fine. I’d freeze it before cutting.
Any idea how long the mixture cooks for approx? I don’t have a candy thermometer.
I would suggest buying a candy thermometer or if you don’t want to (I feel you), you could try a microwave fudge. Fudge is really tricky for me even with a candy thermometer.
Is there any alternative to the marshmallow that can be used in this recipe?
Thanks!
I’ve never tried it, but you may be able to use marshmallows instead of the fluff.
Can you freeze this fudge? it looks super yummy and i would like to make it in advance!
Thanks!
Yes that should be fine! I’d freeze it as a whole block.
About how long does it cook before you take it off? I don’t have a candy thermometer…
I would suggest using a thermometer, or looking up a recipe for the microwave. It will vary depending on your stove (gas vs. electric), and how high your heat is.
I do believe the eggnog fudge makes more than 24 peices…… If they are 1in by 1in…. I have WAY more than 24… I mean I like eggnog so that is fine but you may want to update your recipe for more than 24 pieces. 😛
Thanks for letting me know. I must cut/eat extra large pieces lol! 🙂
Do these need to be refrigerated? And if so, how long will they last without? My brother is away at school and absolutely loves eggnog. Could I mail these to him?
Yes I would keep it in the fridge, sorry! 🙁 Regular fudge should be okay but with the eggnog I wouldn’t take any changes. These eggnog cookies may mail well for future reference: https://www.bakingbeauty.net/eggnog-cookies-with-eggnog-buttercream/ (maybe leave the icing off)
So sad I love eggnog. Can’t get marshmallow creme.
Hi Rebekah,
So sorry to hear that you can’t find the creme. An equal amount (in ounces) of mini marshmallows may work!
Whaddya think about using pumpkin spice morsels in place of the white chocolate chips?
Hi Bonny,
Personally I wouldn’t as it would taste less like eggnog! 🙂
