Chewy white chocolate walnut blondies topped with a sinful maple brown sugar sauce. Make your favorite Applebee's dessert at home for a fraction of the cost.

I love making copycat recipes at home. Some of my favorites so far are Taco Bell's Cinnabon delights and Applebee's Fiesta Lime Chicken. My latest creation is also an Applebee's Copycat. Their maple butter blondie is out-of-this-world decadent. The blondie itself is thick and chewy with tons of mix-ins. Then the whole thing is smothered with a maple caramel sauce that is so addictive.

The ice cream is optional, but highly recommended. We love making this recipe for Sunday Supper, birthdays, and bake sales alike.

Ingredient Notes and Shopping Tips

white chocolate, maple syrup, walnuts, butter, brown sugar, flour, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Flour: Measure your flour by spooning it into your measuring cup and then leveling it off with a knife. Do not scoop your flour into the measuring cup as you'll likely use too much.
  • Brown Sugar: Both light and brown sugar work fine. When you measure it, pack it down in the cup.
  • Walnuts: You can also use pecans. We like to toast our nuts before using them in baking.
  • Maple Syrup: Use pure maple syrup if possible. It has a richer flavor and no corn syrup!

Did you know?

You should replace your baking soda and powder every 6-12 months. As they expire, they will make your baked goods rise less.

️Krystle's Tips️

  • Line Your Pan: Line your pan with nonstick foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Use Room Temperature Ingredients to help everything combine smoothly.
  • Don't Overmix: Mix until the flour just disappears. Overmixing will lead to a tough, dense blondie.
  • Don't Overbake: Blondies are done when a toothpick inserted a few inches from the center comes out clean. It's okay if the middle is still a little underbaked; they will firm up as they cool.
  • Knife Hack: Cut with a plastic knife instead of a metal one because they're naturally nonstick.

This is about 10,000% better than Applebee's! I can see the inspiration, but this really is much better. You can't beat fresh from your own oven!

I've never actually tried Applebee's Blondie. But after seeing this recipe, I think I'll be making a pit stop there, soon 😉 And I can imagine that this homemade kind is even better! Especially when they're drowned in that maple butter sauce! 😀
