Sweet and boozy gummy bears are a nostalgic treat. Try them in my gummy bear cocktail, which is sweet, fruity, and tastes just like your favorite gummy candy.
I love fun and unique cocktails. I’ve previously shared one-of-a-kind drinks like mudslide milkshakes and birthday cake shots. This gummy bear cocktail is my new favorite.
They will absorb the liquid and turn into little boozy snacks too. What’s not to love? They will take you back to the days of eating gummy bears without a care in the world. The one exception is that these are afor adults only! Theseare the perfect addition to any alcoholic beverage or a fun treat during an adult event. You’ll not only love how easy it is to make but you’re going to totally dig the flavor too!
History/Origin
These cute gummy treats hail from Germany. They were invented there in the 1920s by Hans Riegel Sr., who went on to start the Haribo company. The trained circus bears inspired him. Today they are widely available in the US and come in 5 classic flavors/colors, including Red (Raspberry), Orange (Orange), Green (Strawberry), Yellow (Lemon), and Clear (Pineapple).

Tips and Tricks
- Will These Get You Tipsy? Yes! They’re absorbing a few grams of 70-proof alcohol, so these will pack a boozy bite. The longer the they soak in the rum, the more alcohol they’ll soak up.
- Don’t Overfill: Add just enough alcohol for them to be covered, but not swimming.
- Strain: Strain off any excess alcohol before serving.
- Don’t Throw Away the Liquid: Add it to another cocktail or try it in a boozy dessert.
- Use a toothpick or cocktail skewer for a cute presentation.
- Make Clear Ice: Make ice using bottled water for crystal clear cubes.
- Top It Off: Add lemon-lime soda such as sprite for a bubbly cocktail.
- Storage Note: Be sure to clearly label and store high out of reach of little hands as these are for adults only.
