Jane Cosmetics says:Luminous shimmer illuminates eyes in a cream-to-powder eye shadow that never quits. This smudge-proof formula provides long-lasting, crease-free color that dries down quickly and lasts all day.

Wear alone or under powder shadow to create a smooth, even base and create custom colors for day and night.

Baking Beauty says: I love the rich vibrant color, but the texture is a little off-putting.

Jane Cream Eye Shadow in Shimmering Silver Review

Effectiveness:3.5/5

SONY DSC

Pigmentation:5/5

Shimmering Silver is truly a shimmering silver that is slightly cool toned.

Texture:3/5

It comes out of the tube as a creamy liquid product that is easy to apply. However, it dries to a really rough almost gritty finish. It doesn’t work as a base and is nearly impossible to blend into other shadows.

Ease of use:3/5

Lasting Power:4/5

With the rough texture I was fully expecting this to crease within an hour, but it surprised me. It lasted 8-9 hours on me with a primer.(I use Tarte’s)

Packaging:4/5

I kind of wish the applicator was different as it is a little unsanitary and may make it go bad quicker.

Value:4.5/5

Also available in: 12 other shades

Cost:$8.00

  1. I like to mix it up. Cream shadows are nice alone or as bases for powders. This doesn’t look like something I would purchase or use.

  2. I love that silver! It’s so pretty.

  3. The shimmer factor is nice. Too bad it’s not blendable and can’t be used as eyeshadow base :-(

  4. Pretty eyeshadow. It would be a good base, too

    • Hi Kim,
I don’t think it has the right texture to be a base. It’s not as creamy when it dries as Maybelline Color Tattoos or paint pots.

  5. That’s a pretty color – thanks for the review – i think it’s something I’ll stay away from.

  6. It would be a nice to carry while travelling. Just a nice neutral shade to slap on and be out of the door. ;)

  7. Pretty!! I agree about the applicator though!

  8. very nice silver shade
