Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleansing Towelettes Review

Burt’s Bees says:”Skin-friendly has never felt nicer thanks to our handy natural facial cleansing towelettes. In one simple step, they kindly remove your make-up, while cleansing and toning your skin”.

Baking Beauty says: These wipes were soothing and refreshing. However, they weren’t very good at removing makeup.

What I loved:
1. The wipes had a cooling effect that made using them very refreshing. This is especially true after working out!

2.They didn’t leave any residue. Some wipes make me want to immediately wash my face, but these left me feeling clean.

What I didn’t like:
1. The wipes were not very good at removing makeup. While they easily removed foundation and eye shadow, mascara and eyeliner barely budged.

2. I wasn’t a big fan of the scent either. It was a herbal almost bitter smell that I didn’t like having under my nose. Luckily, I did not find it to linger after using the wipes.

3.The wipes were on the dry side. While I do prefer very moist ones, you can always add more water without losing the benefits.

Overall Burt’s Bees Sensitive facial Cleansing Towelettes are

Best for: Those who don’t wear a lot of makeup or who are just looking to freshen up.

Avoid it if: You wear a lot of makeup!

Cost: Around $6.00

Baking Beauty says: I was really excited to try these wipes, but they fell short of my expectations.

I’ve been dying to try some of the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit line products ever since I smelled it in a magazine. However, it just wasn’t as good in person!

Neutrogena Oil free Cleansing Wipes in Pink Grapefruit Review

What I loved:
1. Very moist: These wipes are very wet, and don’t feel dry or scratchy on the face.

2. Cooling: Before we turned on our air conditioning it was just way too hot to get a hot shower before bed. Instead, I used these at night. They felt cool and refreshing on my skin.

3. Clean effectively: These effectively removed foundation/powder from my face at the end of the day. It easily wiped it away without leaving any sort of oily residue.

What I didn’t like:
1. The scent: I love fruity scents, but just wasn’t feeling this one. It smells like a combination of grapefruit and all purpose cleaner. I didn’t like using it around my face, and unfortunately I found the scent to linger. My nose is very sensitive to perfumes, but I’ve never found a makeup wipe so unpleasant.

2. Can’t use it around your eyes: I know that this is technically a cleansing wipe, but I use wipes mainly to take off my makeup. This includes mascara, eyeshadow, ect. most days. These are better suited to morning use or after a workout while I tend to only use wipes at night. This is not necessarily a bad things, but it just doesn’t fit my lifestyle.

3. Harsh: I found these wipes to make my face burn slightly. I have combination skin (oily in my tzone), so maybe I just don’t have the right type of skin for these?

Have you tried these? Did they work for you? What’s your favorite makeup wipe?
